Summertime, when the livin' is easy. Really?

Rather than the lazy, hazy days of summer, the 4th of July feels more to me like a crazy time that fully represents life as I currently know (and like) it.  Busy, busy, busy and blessed.

Consider:
  • A house full of family (13 guests for 4 nights - we pack 'em in every corner - plus 12 more staying with other relatives, and of course the  9 who live nearby who come around, too.)
  • Places to go and things to do (they love Orrville and come from Florida, Virginia and Michigan every year to enjoy all the great things in our area)
  • An abundance of food (cook in or cook out and sample nearly every restaurant in town)
  • Dozens of trips to Buehler's  (They always remind me what a great store we have here and how awesome the grocery pick up lane really is)
  • Games, activities and challenges (Everything from a Bounce House to Cornhole & softball to Scrabble or Uno)
  • Conversation, contemplation and companionship (when the ages range from 4 months to 71 years you can expect just about any topic to come up, any debate to rise, and any combination of people spending "getting to know you" time.
  • Participation in and partaking of the parade and carnival and everything that comes with that (you just gotta love this slice of traditional middle America)
  • Fabulous fireworks for our fantastic freedom (seriously folks, Orrville really does put on a terrific show and these people are so impressed!)
So why does that all feel like my normal daily life?

Because it really is a combination of what being a part of the Chamber is all about: Good people, great things to be involved in,  so much to be doing,  enrichment and nourishment,  supporting local business,  strategies and challenges, listening, learning and building relationships,  embracing our traditions and our progress, and continual celebration for who we are and what we have.

Summertime, any time, YOU really do help make it easy.  That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
